Islam via Hinduism -- Wisdom quotes - 1 (From Facebook by Vineet)

When Arabic Poet Livi was told to describe Indian treasure, he made a poem. When translated to English, it reads:
"Blessed land of Hind (Hindusthan), you are worthy of reverence, for in you has GOD revealed true knowledge of Himself. What a pure light do these four revealed books afford to our mind’s eyes like the charming and cool lustre of the dawn! These four GOD revealed upon his prophets called as Rishis in Hind. Those treasuries are the Sama and Yajur which GOD has preached. O my brothers, revere these, for they all tell us the good news of salvation. The next two of these four, the Rig and the Atharva, teach us lessons of universal brotherhood. These two are the beacons that warn us to turn towards that goal of universal brotherhood."

Ashfaqullah Khan was a renowned freedom fighter who belonged to Pathan family. He had friends with Hindu freedom fighters like Ram Prasad Bismil and Sikh freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh. Whenever his friends were criticized... he immediately commented.
"You criticize them. I feel myself criticized. They are not Muslim and that does not matters. I am Indian and India taught universal equality. A true Muslim knows very well that religion and other discrimination are merely human imagination and has no value in Allah's vision. Ultimately, all religions lead to same goal. You say that Hindu people are Kafirs - I ask you who bribed you and by how much; for saying like that? Answer it else you deserve death." In his last night, he said - "Bismil is Hindu, he will take birth again and serve his nation. Why the hell GOD made me Muslim??? I prefer hell if it is crime to convert to Hinduism but I want to come again for my nation. I want rebirth and not the heaven from GOD."
Muslim historian Wassaf Abdulla commented once:
"India, according to the concurrent opinion of all writers, is the most agreeable abode on earth and the most pleasant quarter of the world. Its dust is purer than air and its air is purer than purity itself."
Muslim historian of 9th century, Al - Jahiz mentioned:
"I can never forget what help had Hindus done to the mankind. They gave us number system. We gave it to Europe. They call it Arabic numerals but I know who actually deserves the credit." He adds up saying "The Hindus excel in astrology, mathematics, medicine and in various other sciences. They have developed to a perfection arts like sculpture, painting, and architecture. They have collections of poetry, philosophy, literature and science of morals. These people have judgment and are brave. They posses the virtues of cleanliness and purity. Contemplation has originated with them."
Another Muslim scholar of past, Abul Hassan Al Qifti said.
"Among those parts of their sciences which came to us, the numerical calculation….it is the swiftest and most complete method of calculation, the easiest to understand and the simplest to learn; it bears witness to the Indians’ piercing intellect, fine creativity and their superior understanding and inventive genius."
The Jewish writer Rele declares:
"Our present knowledge of the nervous system fits in so accurately with the internal description of the human body given in the Vedas. Then the question arises whether the Vedas are really religious books or books on anatomy of the nervous system and medicine."
Muslim journalist M. J. Akbar writes
"If Hinduism has a defining message, then it is humanism. There is space in its philosophy for everyone, which is one reason why India is a home to every single religion in the world. Hinduism is synonymous with humanism. That is its essence and its great liberating quality."
4th Caliph - Ali bin Abi Talib commented, "The land where books were first written and from where wisdom and knowledge sprang is India."
Muslim Scholar Yakubi mentioned, "The Hindus are superior to all other nations in intelligence and thoughtfulness. They are more exact in astronomy and astrology than any other people."

A Muslim philosopher Roger Garaudy calls Bhagavad Gita to be a richly established message to convert all socieities to divinity on earth.
Rizwan Salim witnessed Muslim influence on India. In his article he mentions India to be the earth’s most mentally advanced civilization, the most richly imaginative culture, and the most vigorously creative society; whose base was tampered by a Muslim fool.

"If there is a country on earth which can justly claim the honour of having been the cradle of the Human race or at least the scene of primitive civilization, the successive developments of which carried into all parts of the ancient world and even beyond, the blessings of knowledge which is the second life of man, that country is assuredly India.”

“India was the motherland of our race, and Sanskrit the mother of Europe's languages; she was the mother of our philosophy; mother, through the Arabs, of much of our mathematics; mother, through the Buddha, of the ideals embodied in christianity; mother, through the village community, of self-government and democracy. “Where can we look for sages like those whose systems of philosophy were prototypes of those of Greece: to whose works Plato, Thales and Pythagorus were disciples? Where do I find astronomers whose knowledge of planetary systems yet excites wonder in Europe as well as the architects and sculptors whose works claim our admiration, and the musicians who could make the mind oscillate from joy to sorrow, from tears to smile with the change of modes and varied intonation?”

Their beginnings are not known. They have been heirlooms of the Hindus from generation to generation from time immemorial."

"Religious faith in the case of the Hindus has never been allowed to run counter to scientific laws, moreover the former is never made a condition for the knowledge they teach, but there are always scrupulously careful to take into consideration the possibility that by reason both the agnostic and atheist may attain truth in their own way. Such tolerance may be surprising to religious believers in the West, but it is an integral part of Vedantic belief."

"It is India that gave us the ingenious method of expressing all numbers by ten symbols, each receiving a value of position as well as an absolute value, a profound and important idea which appears so simple to us now that we ignore its true merit. But its very simplicity, the great ease which it has lent to all computations, puts our arithmetic in the first rank of useful inventions, and we shall appreciate the grandeur of this achievement the more when we remember that it escaped the genius of Archimedes and Appollnius, two of the greatest men produced by antiquity."
